The “Coonghoongbula” clearing sale was held on Saturday, May 1st. This sale was HUGE ! with rows and rows of items to catch the bidders’eyes.
The sale was divided into two areas set either side of the lovely ‘Coonghoongbula’ homestead and garden. The side with more items to interest the ladies was given the name ‘The Pink Side’ by the Nick Kirshner crew and the side containing items more likely to interest men was given the name ‘The Blue Side’. However the naming was a bit off course as many men drifted to the ‘Pink Side’, perhaps to make sure the ladies didn’t spend too much money! The inventory consisting of household furniture, antiques, collectables and quality furnishings, paintings and artwork, a collection of firearms, an array of farming equipment, recreational items, as well as cattle -heifers, cows PTIC and a couple of bulls- all achieving quality prices.
The Coonghoongbula clearing sale attracted a lot of interest with buyers coming from the coast, Canberra, Sydney as well as many locals attending the sale.
As always the NKPL clearing sales are an extremely social event and with the weather being picture perfect, the location stunning, the crowd of over 306 registered bidders and many more spectators enjoying the day which concluded just after nightfall after the two amazing auctioneers Nick Kirshner and Aaron Mackay (along with the NKPL support team) auctioned off more than 968 lots!! Some interesting sales were made with the Sunbeam Alpine making $28,000.00.
It was a long day but Tony Nassar and his team of caterers kept everyone happy and contented with their amazing food and extremely quick service and Annie and her Coffee van served more the 350 coffees throughout the day! A mammoth effort from all involved!!
NKPL have had a busy start to 2021 with 7 clearing sales since March, although with winter fast approaching, the clearing sales are now easing off but keep an eye out for the nickkirshner website to be kept updated of future clearing sale dates.
