GOING GOING GOING GONE was the caption for the front page of the local newspaper the Monaro Post and that pretty much summed up the day !!! It seemed that everyone came out to have a look at what the historic Burnima Homestead had up for offer, more than 450 buyers and spectators attended the sale, and the scene was reminiscent of a bygone era with the majestic homestead the backdrop to many and varied antiques and collectables ready for inspection and spirted bidding throughout the day whilst some spectators threw down a blanket and had a picnic within the beautiful landscaped gardens. The two auctioneers Aaron Mackay and Nick Kirshner kept the crowd entertained with their quick wit and humour whilst getting through the 707 lots and the NKPL bid spotters kept an eye on the crowd with the bids that were coming in thick and fast, the NKPL office staff kept queues’ to a minimum and allowed for quick registrations and payments. Some of the notable items sold were: a stationary steam engine that sold for $18,000, a grand piano for $5000, Dodge Ute $11,000, Fordson major Tractor, 2,500. Overall a fabulous day for all involved ! and the vast crowd was kept fed and watered by the fantastic catering team Rotary Bombala
